T.O.P.S. investigation "inconclusive"
On August 2, 2008, The Ohio Paranormal Seekers conducted a paranormal investigation of the Stone Academy. Author Gary Felimlee has cronicled previous reports of sightings in the building in his book Ghosts in the Valley."I'm a skeptical believer," he said.
TOPS did not find much activity in the eight hours they spent in the museum. "I guess it wasn't active that night, but it happens. We caught a couple of EVPS, but can't say if it 100 percent paranormal because the floors were so thin, " said Brent St. John, TOPS founder and investigator. EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) are recordings thought to be voices or sounds made by ghost. TOPS also used a 4-camera DVR system with night vision, digital cameras, audio equipment, and special meters in an attempt to detect activity.
"We aren't saying that there isn't paranormal activity," said Jennifer Boyd, TOPS case manager. "For one its a very old building. For two it has a lot of hsitory."
