*Underground Railroad Historic Marker

Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Historical Society and the hard work of Henry Burke of Marietta, a series of seven new Historic Markers will highlight the operation of the Underground Railroad in the Muskingum River corridor. One of the markers will focus on the role of the Stone Academy and the Putnam community in the anti-slavery movement and Underground Railroad.
